Vet Adventure!

We love our cats (Mittens, Gigi, and Calcifer) and want to take them with us to Japan. In order to take them with us, they have to be healthy and get some vaccines. Doug took the cats last month to get a wellness check, their first round of Rabies Vaccine, a FVRCP Vaccine, and Microchipped. Gigi had a Microchip but Mittens and Calcifer needed one.

I got the pleasure to take the cats to get there second round of Rabies Vaccine and their blood drawn for a FAVN Test. For the FAVN test they have to send the blood work to Texas. It takes three to six weeks for the test to come back. The military recommends you start this process 180 days before moving. We are way ahead of schedule. We are also lucky to find out where we are going with months to prepare.

They have one more vet visit to go, which will be closer to when we move.

This is a lot of things to do for your cats. Well, yes it is! But, our cats won’t have to be quarantined when we get to Japan.

Mittens, 7, is from West Virginia. She thrives on a routine, is an escape artist, and is my cat.
Gigi, 7, is from Florida. She loves the outdoors, enjoys her head scratched and is Doug’s cat.
Calcifer, 4, is from Kentucky. He loves to cuddle, enjoys sunbathing, and loves to wait for Doug to come home.
